Half term week !!

As you may be able to tell I am a little pleased it is half term this week. I work in a pre-school and a 7 week term is 1 week too long for our little ones. A lot of them get tired and grumpy ! We are in for another 7 weeks when we go back although this one is leading up to Christmas so hopefully the excitement will stop the grumpiness (fingers crossed).

We have got ourselves a new laptop which I am slowly learning to use. Some things on here just don't work how I think they will. I had trouble with dropbox and getting the photos I wanted on here but eventually worked it out. Some ways it was so much easier to use the pc even if it did take 100 times as long to connect to the internet lol.

So I have been working on my sister in laws Christmas present. It is a Lizzie Kate chart called Dog Lessons for People.

Day 1

Day 3

Day 5

Day 7

Day 8

Day 9

I am hoping to get it finished over this half term week so I can carry on working on the Bluebell that I took on for some-one else.

I have had a couple of charity shop bargains over the last month. I brought this huge standing frame for a fantastic price of £1...I couldn't believe it when I saw £1 on it ! I had to have it..it is just right for the heaven and earth design projects that I have got on the go. They have taken a backseat at the moment so I can get the smaller projects done.
I also found this great cross stitch kit when I was out with my friend having a mooch around the charity shops. It was a whole £2 and came with every-thing..chart, aida and all of the threads needed.

On another note here is cute picture of Friday our little kitten. She likes to sit on my lap whilst I stitch and normally she likes to join in !

I got myself a new tattoo. It is a cover up on the first tattoo that I ever got when I was around 17. I had a small spider here but it was really blurry and I didn't like it. So came up with this with the tattooist. I love it !! The cat had to be a little fatter than first designed to cover up the spider but I'm still really pleased with it. This photo was taken after the first cling film came off and I had given it a bit of a wash.

Well that's it for now. x

Happy Sunday

Well I generally enjoy Sundays as its the day that we just chill out at home. Today is no exception as my other half has gone to Wales for the weekend climbing so today is just me chilling with my children and our pets ! We have a new addition to our pets, a kitten called Friday. She is so tiny and is around 2 months old now..here she is with my son

It was also my boys 7th Birthday last weekend and this is the cake that my mum's friend made for him.
He was meant to be having a Ben 10 bouncy castle in the garden for his party but the weather was predicted to be horrible so the company wouldn't let us have the bouncy castle. Instead we had a 'traditional' birthday party with pass the parcel, musical statues and a pinata that just didn't want to break ! All the children seem to have a brilliant time though so that was a relief.

Here is the crochet blanket that I am working on...I have started to put some of it together as I was worried about doing that as it is my first granny square blanket. But so far so good, I do need to go and purchase some more wool though (oh the shame).

This is my latest finish, a corgi fridge magnet. This has already sold and the money will be going to my favorite charity PACT animal sanctuary. I am going to aim to get a small make made a week in between the larger projects that I am currently doing.
Well that's all my news for now x x

Hello....

So today I have been trying to sort out my crafty goodies (once again) they had a bit of a jiggle around but didn't really get very far. However I did put all my cross stitched and papercrafted cards in the card stand I brought a while back.

What do you think of them ?

In my last post I told you I had started a new cross stitch for a lady from the facebook group UFO swaps https://www.facebook.com/groups/530157013678381/ . Well below is what it should look like when it is finished.

This was my progress after a couple of days work

Then a few more days

This is where I am now.
It is slowly taking shape, I will post more progress pictures in my next post. I have learnt a new technique called railroading. Which is when you pass the needle in between your threads and it helps to keep the stitches neater. It really does keep the stitches more uniform but is taking me longer to stitch at the moment. However I am sure I will get faster with this technique with a little more practice.

Well that's all my news for now. Leave me a comment if you fancy x x

Its been too long again !

I remember my mum always saying that the older you got the faster time went and I used to think she was talking such nonsense. But I am now in that stage where I know exactly what she means....I can't believe how fast time is going by (in the blink of an eye).
Well its the summer holidays here at the moment and we have enjoyed a lovely week in Cornwall. Here are some of my fav pics from holiday

I have also started on my christmas cross stitching

and have a new range of papercrafted cards on my facebook page littlemisscrossstitch. They are called 'Tea Party'

I have taken on a new UFO from a lovely lady called Claire. I will be posting pics as soon as I have got some-thing decent to show. Below is a piece that I am currently working on at the moment, which I am going to get framed and sell on my facebook page. Any guesses to what it is going to be ?

Lastly here are some more pics of summer holiday fun. There was a sci-fi 'thing' going on at The Forum in Norwich and we just had to go. My son is a big doctor who fan and had a lovely time, but he was a little worried about the weeping angel and wouldn't actually go near her !

Oh and here is a pic of my boy doing some holiday stretching...he does make me laugh !

Well I shan't be leaving it so long until next time (hopefully) x

On the stitching side of things I have 3 haed currently on the go , old world map, glimpse of a unicorn and grumpy owl . I have also just started on stitching Christmas cards ! I will add photos when I get a chance to get on the pc

2nd Week of the Easter Holidays

So it has been busy here again...well kind of. We had a very sad day Sunday when we found our rabbit Flopsy had been stolen by foxes. I was deeply upset and have these horrible visions of him being taken away by them. It is weird when I go into the garden and he isn't there.
Monday was a pj day we where very lazy ! I did however make this felt mouse, I was quite proud of myself as I have never made any-thing like this before

Tuesday I had a mass Spring clean jiggled things around a bit and got rid of lots of bits. Lots of bits and pieces went into the charity shop. I also posted a couple of my pen pals some crafty bits I thought that they would be able to make good use of.
Today we have not done too much, took the last of the bits to the charity shop and went for a little walk.

On the stitching side I have started on one of the cross stitch kits that I won on ebay .I have not got many stitches done at the moment but here it is

I have also started on a little card which will be very cute once completed. I will post a picture once it is finished.

I have gone and got myself a iphone and have added dropbox and good reader onto it. So now I don't have to print HAED charts I can just use them to stitch by. I'm not sure if I am going to get to grips with it like that and not paper copies. I will start a new project as soon as I have got a few of the WIP's completed. I am planning on my next start to be Asian Fantasy 3 which looks like this

Asian Fantasy 3

Well thats all my news for now, I will leave you will a lovely picture of my 2 boys (big and small) messing around in some trees.

Easter holidays so far .......

Well so far the Easter holidays have been very busy (although we are having a lazy day today). I have started a new facebook page where I am selling craft supplies imaginatively called https://www.facebook.com/ClaresCraftSupplies  so I have been busy taking photo's and uploading them to my page. My son has loved it as he got to claim lots of lovely papers and stickers which he has loved making with. My daughter went to her dad's on Sunday and will be back home again on Thursday so I have been busy looking after her lovely pet rat.

My husband also went away for Easter with the climbing club that he belongs to so it has just been me and my son, which has been rather lovely as we have been able to get on and do what we want to ! We went to the cinema yesterday with my mum, sister and nephew to watch The Croods, it is a fab film and I recommend going to see it. My mum and I even shed a tear !!!

Now on the stitching side I received the UFO's from the lady one is a winnie the pooh afghan. The lady had started on it but hadn't put too many stitches in. Me being silly couldn't work out where she had started so pulled it out and started again. Here is what I have done so far

I have never worked on an afghan before but am finding it a really nice way to stitch. The afghan material is so soft it is a real pleasure to work with.

Well thats all my news for now x x

This Week.......

I managed to win the 2 cross stitch kits that I was bidding on ebay for. Here are the kits:

All I have to do is actually find the time to stitch them, then get them framed and up on my son's bedroom wall. He was so excited when they came through the post.
I received a message on facebook earlier on this week from a lovely lady who saw me on the UFO group that I am a member of. She saw on there that I have completed a couple of projects for a few ladies and she has asked me to complete two projects for her. One is a Winnie the pooh afghan and the other is a dimensions kit called Midnight Dancers. So I am waiting for them to come through the post to me, when I get them I will of course take some photos.
I have also applied for a stall at an event which is held in June called the Tuckswood Fair. This looks like it is going to be an amazing event with lots of things going on such as craft stalls, traditional stalls such as raffle, tombola, hook a duck etc, music, food and a beer tent. So I am looking forward to that even though it is a few months away.
I managed to finish this card last night :

It took me a good few hours to complete it as it has got lots of back stitch to give it the lovely details.

On a final note I found this picture of my son and daughter being batman and robin (it was taken about 2 years ago)

I just had to share it as I thought it was really funny !

Take Care x

Happy !

Yes I am happy ! Last night I managed to complete my first Heaven and Earth Design cross stitch. It is called A Pale Comparison and it is stitched 1 over 1 on 25 count aida. Here it is

of course it has got to go to the framers. I put my name and year on the bottom of the piece but my other half thinks that I should have stitched it over my stitching. You know like artists do on paintings but I prefer it like this......what do you think ? What do you do ?

Here is the Dalmatian framed

which I have to say I think looks really fantastic. It is on my son's wall next to the Fox Terrier. I am bidding on a couple of kits from the same range on ebay. Fingers crossed I win them lol.

My good friend Sarah taught me to crochet a while back and she sent me a tutorial on how to do a granny square. Here are my first attempts

Also on Wednesday (my day off from my day job) she taught me how to make these really cute crochet flowers

Sarah now teaches crochet lessons in Norwich and if she can teach me she can teach any-one ! I am going to attempt to make a whole load of these flowers and turn them into a blanket.

Lastly I had a parents evening with my son's teachers. A while back we suspected he may be dyslexic but he has surprised us all and has picked up on his reading by 100%. I was so super proud of him I nearly cried ! !

Well until next time x
