Crochet blanket and other things

Hi so I have been busy crocheting this blanket for my Mum which will be her Christmas present. She has commented on other blankets I have made so thought this would be a great Christmas present for her. Plus I am using wool that I have had stashed in my basket and wasn't sure what I was going to do with. The photo doesn't really do it justice as it is now really huge. I am going to keep going with it until either I have run out of wool or its Christmas !

My other half treated me to this Tanto thread organiser which is really helpful when stitching a confetti filled chart. I am currently using it for HAED Olde World Map and have got 50 out of the 90 colours needed on it. So I have also got a Pako needle/thread organiser on the way which hopefully I will get the other 40 colours on ! Fingers crossed !

I have joined a group on facebook which is called 'working from your stash only in 2015'. I have got so many charts, kits etc that I really do not need to buy any-more. I am going to 'reward' myself and each month I manage not to buy any-more stash put £10 into a money box. Just think if I actually manage to go through the whole year I will have £120 to spend on new stash in 2016. So I have written myself a little list of what I would like to accomplish which compiles of 2 pages of old world map, 2 pages of grumpy owl and 1 page on glimpse of a unicorn. Also to complete the bang on the door kit I have currently got in my bag as my 'take with me' project. The other 3 projects are too big to take out with me either.

On another note I had a hair re-style ! My daughter kindly dyed it for me 'dark cherry' and then gave me a fringe ! She did a super job !!

Next time I endeavour to take photos of the projects I have on my list to do in 2015. Until then x

Lots to tell

So firstly I had the opportunity to swap where my shelf was in the Norwich Gift Emporium. So instead of having my bits and pieces on one long shelf near the back of the shop I have got 2 smaller shelves in the middle of the shop. I am really pleased and think that my bits and pieces look much nicer on the two different shelves. Will just have to wait and see if the shoppers of Norwich feel the same.

I have also been busy making sure that I have got enough stock for a stall I am having at a local Christmas fair at the end of November. So I spent a couple of hours making sure that my cards had all the finishing touches on them including deciding on pricing (in my opinion the hardest part)

I also put stitched this Christmas decoration which is stuffed and backed with white felt. It will be making an appearance at the Christmas fair as well as hopefully a couple of more similar decorations.

These cute Christmas tags will be there as well !

I have been busy cross stitching some little panels for the ATC swap group I am part of. They just need mounting and making pretty then posting off.

These are a few of the latest ATC's and the extras that I have received recently.

Lastly on an extra cute note we have got 2 new additions to our family. Daisy and Vienna our new kittens. Our other cats seem to be quite happy to have them about and our husky wants to play with them. As you can see in the photo they like to sleep in the strangest positions !

I have got to go and hang the washing on the airer...oh the joys ! x

I'm back

Hi so the summer holidays where a little manic especially as my other half spent 2 weeks in New Zealand leaving me at home with the children and animals. But we are back into our daily routine and normal service has resumed.

It was my son's 8th birthday and we took him to Chessington for the weekend to celebrate with his cousin. We are had a great time even though there where lots of waiting to go on the rides on the Saturday. The Sunday was much quieter and we got to do everything we wanted to.

On the stitchy side of things my shelf as Norwich Gift Emporium seems to be doing well and I have had to replenish stock a couple of times. I popped in yesterday and my shelf now looks like this

If your in Norwich it really is worth popping into as there is a big variety of local handmade items. I am going to buy lots of my Christmas presents from the shop.

This is one of my latest makes, it is stitched on plastic canvas and stitched onto a giant paperclip. This one flew out of my stock as soon as it was made !

This is my favourite new make
he is just so cute !!

Today I am catching up with the ATC's for the ATC cross stitch swap that I am in. Hope your all enjoying your Sunday

First Week of the Summer Holidays

Hello ,
so first of all some non stitchy news. I went on holiday last week with my mum to Butlins at Bognor Regis. We had a lovely time away and it was nice having some 'me' time but I did miss my little family loads.

These two blokes where crazy on this wheel thing. It was really interesting to watch especially when they where juggling whilst standing on the top of the cage.

This was one of the evening entertainment called 'African Fusion'. The group was really fantastic and lots of variety to their act lots of dancing and as you see below balancing on chairs !
This is me standing on a very windy but very warm pier at Bognor Regis.
My mum and I booked tickets to go to the Butlins circus where there where the usual clown acts as well as this lady who wasn't tied in but just using the fabric to climb up. She then twisted herself around the fabric and done lots of different poses.
This was a great Freddie (queen) act. Not quite what my mum and I was expecting but still really enjoyable.
Lastly a picture of my mum walking along the beach which you can see mainly consists of pebbles ! We did manage to collect lots of shells though.

So my son wanted to get a new pet he has had hamsters, gerbils in the past and also has had Indian Stick Insects. He decided he would like stick insects again but a different type so I managed to find a reptile shop in Norwich that was selling 'Black Beauties'. There are 3 of them in here and have grown so much in the 2 days that he has had them. They are only babies at the moment and the females grow to about 7 cm and the males about 5cm. They can also live upto 2 years !
One of the girls got married on Saturday from work and here is my son looking all handsome for the wedding reception. The bride looked stunning and by all accounts had a fantastic day.

Now onto stitchy news. I took part in a challenge where you counted how many individual stitches you done throughout July. I managed to do 4219 stitches in total, the lady who done the most managed over 30,000 !! I have no idea how she did that but I am going to carry on and see if I can beat my total in August. So I worked on both of these to get to my stitchy total .

Well that's all my news for now x

Woo Hoo

So I have had a rather exciting week. I contacted a shop in Norwich that only sells local handmade items and made an appointment to go and see them. They loved my 'things' and so now I have my own shelf there !! The shop is called Norwich Gift Emporium and it is on Lower Goat Lane in Norwich City Centre. To make things even more exciting about an hour after setting my shelf up I had already sold 2 items !! So I am really pleased the Summer holidays are fast approaching so I can make lots more 'things' to put on my shelf. Next time I'm in there I will take a photo for you all to see.

So this is my latest progress on 'Grumpy Owl' by Annya Kai. I am really please with how it is coming along even though it has taken me forever to get this far. I still really enjoy working on it and that's what counts ! I think in about 2 years at this rate and it will be ready for framing (I'm not one project at a time girl)

So here is the latest 'ATC' that I received. I have not stitched my letter 'L' as yet but my plan is to get it done tomorrow. But that does depend on how much of a hang over I have ! I am out tonight with the girls from work on a hen do. I have not been out in such a long time and am really looking forward to it.

I was asked to make a card for a girl at work whose friend is expecting a baby boy. She was really pleased with what I stitched for her saying it is 'so cute'.

Well that's all my news for now

Another day at home......

So I am home again with my poorly boy. It looks to me that he has got tonsillitis again (around the 5th time I think) we are going to be going to the doctors in a while to confirm it. However they won't give him any-thing for it as he gets 'viral' tonsillitis but I hope that they may consider removing them. I'm not sure how many times you have to get tonsillitis for them to remove them. He keeps telling me it feels like he is being strangled !!

On a more crafty note this is an ATC swap that I received from a lady in Denmark. The rabbit is the cross stitched ATC and the other bits are a bonus. I love the iron on animals !! Just got to decide what to put them on.

I fancied a new start and decided to do some-thing a little different. I have had this bang on the door kit in my stash for a while so thought I would give it a go.

I am loving how it is turning out it is so super cute !! Would look great framed and in a baby's bedroom.

I have also been doing some papercrafting this week. I was asked to decorate a wedding post box which I can't show until the wedding has been. But I am pleased to say the bride to be was very happy with the result. I have also been making some new type of cards. I have used Hannah Lynn trading cards to make the cards. They are in little wallets and are able to be removed from the card so can be kept. I love Hannah Lynn's art and have got a small collection myself.

I think this is my favourite one that I have made so far. What do you think of them ?
Right that's it for now...wish us luck at the doctors. x

Moved and Settled in

Hello,
so the move went quite smoothly and we are now settled in. It took a week to un-pack all the boxes and decide where we are going to put every-thing but we got there. I keep fiddling around in the kitchen though changing which drawer is for what. So I have a lovely craft cupboard now where I can keep every-thing all together and not have my things all around. I cannot find the photo of it but I will post one next time.

So our cat Smidge has got a favourite place to sit and relax in the sunshine......I don't want to tell him that the new shed is going to be put in this area !

I have had some lovely house warming gifts....my boss got me these cute owl for the garden

and my friend bought me this lovely Calla Lily which she knows I adore !

My other half and I had fun with this Rose. It was laying on the floor so there we where trying to tie it back up to the fence. It must have originally been tied to the fence as there where little hooks on it. It looks so much nicer now !

The garden in general needs a lot of work but there are some lovely flowers in it already amongst the weeds.

So I have just got this Beatrix Potter cross stitch sampler back from the framers and I am really pleased with the way that it has turned out

Yesterday I completed this Kiri the cat card

I am home today with my poorly boy so am having a flash sale over on my page https://www.facebook.com/Littlemisscrossstitch?ref_type=bookmark please pop on over and check it out.

Until next time Take care
